What crazy things has your cat done?
Max is a gray cat who loves to wander around and get into everything outdoors. And he is always playing with the kids who lived there. But Max is curious. His curiosity gets the best of him one day, and he sneaks into the truck before the family that he lives with takes it to town. Imagine their surprise when they see a cat on the hood of their truck while walking back to it and realize it’s Max.
Does Max act scared? No.
Does Max run away when he sees his family? No. Sitting calmly on the hood, he acts as though he belongs there.
Does his adventure into town calm his wandering spirit any? No. The very next week, he tries to hitch another ride into town.
This story, written in verse, can be enjoyed by children who are learning to read and appreciate books. They might need help with a word or two, but that will only aid their ability to read. The beautiful illustrations by Blueberry Illustrations will draw the one reading into Max’s adventure and make them feel as though they are part of the story. And that will only make them want to read more.

Some Crazy Things My Cats Have Done
I’ve had many cats over the years, so in celebration of Max’s determination to do things he isn’t supposed to do, I’m going to share some crazy thing my cats have done.
There is an old saying: curiosity killed the cat. Muffin, an indoor cat, was extremely curious and must have had a death wish. We lived in a trailer at the time. One day she disappeared, and I couldn’t find her anywhere. I found her that evening only because I heard her faint meows. She was hanging upside down between the water heater and the wall. Was she okay? Yes, she was, but she never did that again.
Pepper, another indoor cat, used to flip all the water out of the automatic water bowl just to see more water trickle into the bowl, so we couldn’t have one of those while she was with us. Without one of those, the cats got to share a water bowl with the dogs. When that bowl was empty, Pepper used to curl up inside it.
Smokey was gray, had a stub of a tail, and lived mostly outdoors. A great hunter, he must have felt sorry for his prey; he would cry as he ate them.
Writing Prompt
