I Came Back for You – a Review

Her daughter’s murder was ten years ago. A deathbed confession from the man convicted of killing her puts it into doubt that she was killed by him. Bree Winters sets out to discover who really murdered her daughter. To find out more, she and her ex-husband go to the town in upstate New York where their daughter was living and going to college at the time of her death.

The characters were believable, especially the relationship between Bree and her ex-husband. Lots of unresolved issues were present there. The book grabbed my attention quickly though it had several parts that were a bit too slow for me. Still, it kept enough of my attention that I really wanted to find out who it was that killed her daughter. And I was also curious about how things would work out between her and her ex.

Clues were planted throughout the book, but I didn’t figure out until close to the end what had really happened. You, the reader, discover the clues when Bree Winters discovers them. And I will say that the twists were surprising although I really should have seen what was coming.

The ending was totally believable, and even though there were some slow spots, I enjoyed this book. If you only like fast-paced books, I’m not sure you would like this one, but those of you who like books that keep you thinking and somehow keep you hooked, you will love this one.

Would I read more by this author? Possibly. Would I recommend this book to you? Yes, it is a good book with a satisfying ending.
