A Death in Vegas – an Audiobook Review

Patton Burch is the president of BedBugs, a company that specializes in bugs that benefit organic gardening. He is in Las Vegas for a conference, and the first day has gone great. Things are about to change though. The young woman working for him at this conference as a sexy lady bug spends an innocent night with him, but the next morning he finds her dead in front of the air conditioner in his room.

Patton’s wife is his business partner, and she also encounters troubles of her own at this time. On top of that, she isn’t too happy about this sexy young lady turning up dead in her husband’s hotel room. Can you blame her?

Soon Patton finds out he is wanted not only for murder but also for money laundering. Patton realizes he is the only one who can prove his innocence.

A Death in Vegas takes you from the casinos of Las Vegas, Nevada to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the wineries of Sonoma, California. It is a story of a normal man with usual problems caught up in a situation where he has to break the law in order to remain a free man and prove he isn’t the guilty one.

I read this book and reviewed it years ago, so I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to review it as an audiobook. The story itself was great, and I knew I would enjoy listening to it. I wasn’t disappointed.

The narrator, Bill Perry, has a voice that is smooth and pleasant. He clearly articulates the words, so he is easy to understand. Listening to him read the book while washing dishes and cleaning my kitchen actually made that daily chore enjoyable.

The audiobook will hold your interest from the first sentence read but pausing it to go do other things won’t be too much of a problem. As its many layers unfold and you learn more about the situation Patton is in, it turns into a story that demands you don’t pause or stop the audiobook until its satisfying conclusion.

I was sent a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. If you would like to purchase this audiobook for yourself or as a gift for someone else, I’ve provided an Amazon link for you below.
