What is life like for rap artists? For the ones who manage their careers? For the journalists who write about them? Enter the world of music, rap stars, and the journalists who interview them. Exclusive gives you an inside look at their world of drama.
A journalist, Tisha, is asked by an old college friend now working in the music industry to interview one of his rap artists. It just so happens that this particular rap star is Tisha’s fantasy husband. In her eyes, they are a match made in heaven. She believes this interview will be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
But Shout doesn’t trust journalists. He doesn’t think any of them write the truth. His image isn’t the best, and he wants the truth about him to be written. Will Tisha be able to uncover the man behind the music?
When they meet, it changes both their lives, and the drama begins. Someone else does not want Tisha involved with him though, and things get nasty.
The person that doesn’t want them involved is rather unscrupulous and sets out to ruin what they have. The consequences of the actions taken prove to be more lethal than the person realized they would be. The person wanted pleasure but ended up with something much different in return.
The lifestyles of the characters in this story are very different from the way people live here in the hills of Kentucky. At the beginning of the story, the characters seemed like part of a soap opera to me, but as the author took us deeper into each of their lives, I saw them as real people and had a better understanding of their actions. Concerned about how things would work out for Tisha, it became increasingly harder for me to take a break from reading her story.
The unpredictable storyline kept me wondering just what would happen next. I found the ending to be intense and one that made me want to pick up the next book in this series immediately. Yes, it was a cliffhanger. Good job, Ms. Shiraz!
