In Facing Demons, a woman on the brink of suicide shares how she pulled herself out of the depths of despair to live a fulfilling life.
I began reading this book while I was sitting in a courtroom waiting to find out whether or not I would be selected for jury duty. Parts of it made me laugh out loud, although I tried not to be too noisy, and parts of it made me wonder just where the author was going with her story.
When the story begins, the author is on the verge of committing suicide. She didn’t see any other way out of the tragic life she was having. One day she saw a beautiful white light. It was after that she began to heal and went on a journey of discovery. Her journey of healing and discovery included healing guides, past life regressions, and reincarnation.
I really did enjoy reading about her journey even though I am not a believer in most of the things she talked about. When I reached the part where her eleven-year-old son told her he was an alien from another planet who had been sent here to observe humans, well, I began to not enjoy what I was reading as much. Her story took an unrealistic turn for me. It was almost like the author had tried to fit every belief out there into her story.
Whether or not you agree with the things she says, her story is awesome and inspiring. To read about someone coming out of such a dire situation shows that no matter what you have gone through, recovery is possible.
