Frankenstein Friday is the last Friday in October of each year. This day celebrates the birth of Frankenstein and his creator, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein when she was 21. How should one celebrate Frankenstein Friday? Have fun by watching a Frankenstein movie or by reading the book. You could even do both.
Devil’s Night takes place the night before Halloween. Since the 1930s, it has been a night of vandalism. Otherwise known as “Mischief Night”, it is full of pranks such as toilet papering trees and shrubs, soaping, and egging.
Haunted Refrigerator Night is the night to find out what terrifying, horrible things lurk in the unopened containers that have been hiding in the back of your refrigerator for far too long. Beggars’ Night is a regional term that describes the Halloween activity of trick-or-treating. This term is used in parts of Ohio, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.
Books for Treats Day — Instead of candy, people are encouraged to give books for treats. Candy causes obesity and tooth decay, whereas books stretch a child’s imagination and open the door to learning.
Halloween normally includes such activities as watching scary movies, telling bloodcurdling stories, visiting haunted houses, playing pranks, bobbing for apples, building bonfires, carving jack-o-lanterns, attending costume parties, and trick-or-treating.

National Magic Day is recognized by magicians worldwide as the day to honor Harry Houdini. This great magician died on this day in 1926 from peritonitis in a Detroit hospital.
