And Then There Were Feathers – a Review

Luci has inherited her grandmother’s library. She loves Agatha Christie novels, so finding a dead body that looks like it has come straight out of one of Christie’s classics, especially in the mystery section of her library, is more than a little strange and definitely not normal.

Feathers? Where do they come from? Luci has a lovable African gray parrot, Simon, that stays most nights in the library. When Luci enters the library one morning, Simon wants her to follow him. An uneasy feeling settles in the pit of her stomach when Simon says it is a bad thing. That is when she finds the body in the mystery section. And so it begins.

Her library is falling apart. The air conditioner stalls, dead rats are found on the floors, holes appear in the walls, pipes leak, overflowing sinks and toilets flood the bathroom, and the list goes on and on. Are these just because of the library’s age? Or is it something else?

But there is a businessman who has offered to buy it and give Luci a way out of her money-eating inheritance. Actually, this businessman really wants the library. He is buying up all the businesses around the library, and there are only two business owners who are refusing to sell. Luci is one of them.

The first murder and its similarity to a murder in an Agatha Christie novel was weird, but maybe it was just a strange occurrence. Then there is another murder, and it’s also very like a murder from yet another Agatha Christie novel. Does this murderer have some sort of weird fixation on Agatha Christie?

When those close to Luci are targeted, the situation becomes even more desperate. Once Luci figures out who the killer is though, it is her life is in danger.

I am an Agatha Christie fan, and I must say that his book was a joy to read. This isn’t a rewriting of one of Christie’s book or one of her murder mysteries rewritten in a modern setting although those can be really good too. If you are a fan of Agatha Christie’s books, you’ll absolutely love this book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. If you would like a copy of this book for your own reading pleasure, I’ve placed an Amazon link for the book below.
