Have nighthawks invade archaeological sites and become nighthawkers. If teleportation was a possibility for you, how easy would it be to get away with murder? What has been the most insane thing that has ever been taxed? And what spice use to be more valuable than gold?

A nighthawk is a bird.

Nighthawks also has another meaning. Nighthawks or nighthawkers are those who illegally target archaeological sites and use metal detectors to steal metal objects from them.

Why not combine the two definitions? Okay. I can’t see a nighthawk flying around with a metal detector. But maybe they could use bird-sized metal detectors.

Write a story where archeological sites are being robbed in the darkness by avian nighthawks. They could have, like I said, bird-sized metal detectors to steal the metal objects. Would they even need metal detectors? Or would they still something else?

What do they steal? How is it discovered that birds are the culprits? And how do they attempt to stop them?

If we were all able to teleport wherever we wanted to go, wouldn’t life be so much easier? Write a story where teleporting is a part of everyday life. But does it make life easier, or does it make it more complicated? Make murder a part of your story. Would the ability to teleport make it easier to get away with murder?

The British tax on tea in 1773 was protested against by the Boston Tea Party in which 342 chests of tea were thrown into Boston Harbor. Tax on tea doesn’t seem like such a strange tax now, but there have been many strange taxes throughout history. Thirteen of them are listed below.

You can find out a bit more about each tax in the included link. And you can research one or more of them on your own. Choose one or more of them and write a story about it.

Did you know that in your kitchen you have a a spice that used to be more valuable than gold?

Stories were made up about how hard cinnamon was to acquire. They would have to go to places like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and India to get this spice. I challenge you to come up with an outlandish tale about just hard it was for them to obtain the cinnamon. The more outlandish your tale is, the better.
