Today is Day One: A Devotional – a Review

Each morning is Day One of the rest of your life. How do you want to spend it? What do you want to accomplish? Would you like to strengthen your relationship with Christ?

Today is Day OneToday is Day One is a devotional book perfect for those who don’t have a lot of time. And to be honest, are there any of us who have an overabundant amount of spare time? The bite-sized devotions are short and easy to read while drinking your morning coffee, but what they say will stay with you all day long.

One of the devotions in this book, “What If?,” has stayed with me since I read it. I admit that I have a serious problem of asking, “What if?” This comes in handy when writing fiction. It helps you think of all sorts of horrible outcomes for your characters, but in your own life, you need to turn these fearful questions into statements of faith and trusting God, not doubt. Why didn’t I think of doing this before I read this devotion? It is something so simple, yet it escaped me.

Each of the devotions in this book spoke to me in some way, but that is one that has affected me most. Thank you, Matthew West.

Has your walk with God just begun? Do you need to start afresh with Him? Could your relationship with God use a boost?

Did your slight mistakes yesterday turn into a disaster? This devotional reminds you that God’s mercies are new each day—Day One of the rest of your life— not once a week, not once a month, not once a year, but every single day.
