Beasthood – a Review

A beast lives inside of Jaz Barker.  Can she learn to control it before someone innocent is hurt?

BeasthoodJaz has a horrible nightmare and wakes up in a puddle of blood.  It appears she has had a miscarriage, but she wasn’t pregnant.

She is also severely anemic.  To treat it, she must keep going back to the doctor to get shots and pills.  Not even the doctors can figure out why her anemia is so severe.

Then an aunt she never knew she had that shows up and wants to take her on a sort of vacation.  The moment she gets in the car with her aunt, strange things begin to happen.

This is a story about a young woman that has no clue who or what she really is.  She is taken by her aunt and some man to a place she never knew existed. At first she is revolted by who lives there and what goes on. Then she discovers that the ones who raised her are not her parents.  In this community, she also finds her true love as she slowly becomes part of the clan.

Now she is part of a world where deceit runs high, and where it seems everyone has secrets.  Betrayal, even murder, is within the clan she is a part of. Enemies have infiltrated the clan, and a horrible someone is determined to kill their leader and take over.

I wasn’t sure what this book would be like when I found out it was about werewolves, but I was not disappointed.   It is full of action and has some amazing characters.  Every time I thought things might settle down for Jaz and the life she now had with the werewolves, something would happen to stir things up again.

The ending was great, but there is more to come because Jaz’s story isn’t over yet.  There are yet many unanswered questions at the end of this book, and I look forward to finding out what the answers to them are.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  If you would like to purchase a copy of your own, I have provided an Amazon link below.

Besides writing she also loves designing blogs, websites, covers for others’ books as well as her own and various graphics. She has four blogs/websites and counting. Pinterest and Tumblr keep her busy, as does reading, drawing, painting, and watching films. That’s if she gets time to do any of these things with a three year old jumping around.

When asked in an interview, ‘What books have inspired you to write?’ she replied, ‘I write books I wish existed, not because I’m inspired by a book that already exists.’ (Author bio from Amazon)
