Guide Me Home – a Review

Would you be willing to sacrifice everything to protect the ones you love?

Guide Me Home is a story of addiction and how drugs can take over your life if you allow them to. Mia is addicted to cocaine. She and Devin have a beautiful little girl, Logan. Devin comes home one day and discovers the horrifying way Logan is being used by her drug-addicted mom to pay her debts. Mia isn’t willing to sacrifice anything to keep Devin and Logan; her focus in life is her own pleasure.

Angry and disgusted when he discovers how Mia would allow harm to come to her own child, Devin takes Logan and leaves. Through more unfortunate events, Devin and his little girl end up homeless.

Guide Me Home is a story of friendship and helping others. Devin doesn’t want his little girl to sleep in the streets in the cold weather, so they go to her school and hide inside where it’s warm. There they are found by Logan’s teacher, Faith. She takes them home and cares for them. Even though Faith’s heart is in the right place, Clayton, her fiancé, doesn’t have the right perspective and isn’t too appreciative of what she has done.

While helping Devin and watching him with his daughter, she realizes Devin is the kind of man she has dreamed of sharing her life with.

Guide Me Home is a story of love, revenge, forgiveness, healing, sacrifice, and faith. It is a story of God’s love for us. When child welfare services took Logan away from her father, it broke my heart. I’ll admit that I wanted to choke the characters that I knew had to be responsible for that happening.

To Faith, Pastor Vincent is Uncle Vincent. He runs a homeless shelter at his church and Faith helps out at this shelter. When Clayton kicks Devin and Logan out, this is where Devin ends up. Pastor Vincent sees what no one else around Faith seems to be able to.

When Faith does the inevitable, there are those who aren’t happy about it. They set the wheels in motion to destroy her happiness as well as that of Devin and Logan.

Will Faith, Devin, and Logan survive what is coming their way?
